Most kitchens have decent overhead lighting but terrible task lighting. You're chopping vegetables or reading a recipe and half your counter is in shadow. That's the problem under-cabinet lighting solves - and it solves it well when it's done right.

We installed LED under-cabinet lighting with a dimmer throughout this kitchen, running the fixtures inside an aluminum track with a lens cover for a clean, finished look. No exposed wiring. No hot spots. Just even, smooth light across the countertops. The track-and-lens setup is the detail that separates a professional install from a plug-in strip light you pick up at a hardware store.

The dimmer is a big deal too. Full brightness when you're prepping food, dialed back when you want a more relaxed feel in the evening. That kind of flexibility makes the kitchen more usable at every hour of the day - not just during the bright-lights cooking rush.

What you end up with is lighting that actually works with the space. The herringbone backsplash tile catches the light nicely, the countertops are evenly lit from edge to edge, and the whole kitchen feels more polished without any major renovation involved. It's one of the higher-impact lighting installations we do for the effort required.

If your kitchen counters are getting lost in the dark, under-cabinet lighting is worth a serious look. Done correctly, with proper track mounting and a quality dimmer, it's the kind of upgrade you notice every single day.
