When a DIY Wiring Job Goes Wrong We Fix It Right

DIY electrical work is one of those things that seems simple enough - until it isn't. This tenant had an outdoor fixture that wasn't working, and when we pulled it off the wall, it was pretty clear why. The wiring inside the junction box was a mess. Whoever installed it before had done it wrong, and no amount of flipping switches was going to fix that.

We rewired the outdoor fixture correctly, made sure it was properly secured to the box, and then tracked down a photoeye issue at the front of the house that was causing additional problems. The photoeye is what controls when your outdoor lights automatically turn on and off based on daylight - when it's faulty, your lights either run all the time or not at all. Getting that dialed in made a big difference.

Once everything outside was sorted, we did a quick sweep inside and swapped out some bulbs that were dim or burnt out. Small thing, but it made the interior noticeably brighter. Sometimes it's the little stuff that adds up.
